Pick n Mix but make It productive: How I use blóma earrings as planner charms!

Filofax as a Creative Space

It’s been a few months since I wrote about my Filofax obsession and honestly? I’m still fully in my 90s fashion girlie era.

To be totally honest I have a fallen out with it a few times yes… but every time I pick it back up again I become a better version of myself especially when it comes to running bloma! Samantha Jones would be proud… Except instead of business lunches and stilettos, it’s more of a scruffy brunette in coffee-stained jumpers who runs off to the post office with 5 mins to closing everyday in mismatched socks. Still counts imo!

My Filofax has become less of a planner and more of a catch-all creative survival kit. It holds everything, daily to-do lists, information/research, scribbled product ideas at 1am, weekly brain dumps, and little moments of journaling when I remember I’m a human and not just a packaging machine.

It’s messy in the best way, a scrapbook, a business diary, and a creative sidekick all in one. And because it’s mine, I don’t have to colour-code or make it Instagram-perfect (although I do stick in the odd bit of washi tape when I’m feeling fancy). The best part? Flipping through it makes me feel inspired again. Even on the days where my brain is mush.

Enter the Earrings

Now, hear me out. I know earrings and Filofaxes don’t technically go together… but when you run a jewellery business out of your brain and a very chaotic Notes app, things tend to blur a bit.

One day I was tidying up some samples from my Pick n Mix Mini Charm hoops and realised just how perfect they were for brightening up my planner. I clipped one onto the pocket zip, slid another onto a binder ring, and suddenly, my Filofax wasn’t just organised: it was accessorised.

They make the cutest little page markers, I use the strawberry for my content calendar, a flower charm for my daily planner, and a chilli for my “just for fun” journal section.

Why It Works

Aside from the fact it’s extremely me to turn earrings into stationery accessories, there’s something really lovely about carrying little bits of Blóma with me throughout the day.

The mini hoops are lightweight and dinky enough not to bulk up the planner, and because they’re all mix and match, it’s easy to switch up the colours and charms depending on what I’m feeling that week. Pastel fruit theme in spring? Done. Moons and stars during my “I might actually be a whimsical witch trapped in the body of a tired business owner, Absolutely.

Final Thoughts & A Little Prompt

So if you’ve got some lonely Blóma hoops in your jewellery dish, why not give them a second job? Clip them to a binder ring, add one to a bookmark ribbon, or just use them as a little desk mascot to remind you how fabulous you are even when you're on your third iced coffee and still haven’t posted that reel you filmed last week.

And if you’re new to the whole Filofax life, I highly recommend giving it a go. It’s like playing dress-up for your brain. And if you need help picking out your “earring markers”? You know where to find me.

Georgia xoxo
